Artist This Month : Artist Vs. Poet

Artist Vs. Poet is a power pop band from Dallas, Texas formed in late 2007, and is currently signed to Fearless Record.

After the demise of his previous band, Enter the Collector,Vocalist Tarcy Thomason advertised on Myspace.com about starting an acoustic project in the Fall of 2007. Guitarist/vocalist Craig Calloway was the first to respond. They wrote music and quickly converted the project into a full band. Drummer Joe Westbrook (also formerly of Enter The Collector) joined the band. Also added was guitarist/vocalist Joe Kirkland and finally bassist Jason Dean.
In 2008 they were signed by Fearless Record (Mayday Parade, The Maine). Artist vs Poet released their debut, self-titled EP in November 2008, recorded by producer Mike Green, who has worked with Paramore, The Higher, and Danger Radio.

They released their second EP Damn Rough Time while on tour with Forever The Sickest Kids in 2009 and hit #9 on the iTunes Alternative Chart. Their first full-length album Favorite Fix was released on Fearless Record in March 2010.
Favorite Fix reached #17 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Artist vs. Poet covered Lady GaGa's song, Bad Romance, for the album Punk Goes Pop 3.

    Winter

Hello Winter (i cant say this, cause i live in Indonesia, the tropical country. It's just a dream of me and let me lite my word).
The air more cold than the last i breathe. The sun more shy than before she rose. The rain more coloring his crystal.
The day when i moved out a November, i remind the first on there. I made out the line that i cannot rule. The maturity came firstly with his box of sands. I was heavy unto it, cause it's first time. The great sin was appeared and more than ever. I'm sorry my unconsciously. My hope it will fade by the time, but the fact will say no. The Part of my heart was being apart. The sides one worse, and the other was sad. I was so feel worse. Hopefully by this December better than ever. December is calming my winter.
By November, i think was falling and replacing December.
My paper was flied by my fool. My time burnt with my carelessness. My life sank with my fault then the last i hope December, start a something fresh. It was not about a story, it's just about the feeling that i write.

Owl City - Peppermint Winter (23/11)

    There’s the snow
    Look out below
    And bundle up
    Cause here it comes
    Run outside
    So starry eyed
    A snowball fight breaks out
    And winter has finally begun

I twirl through the driveway with angelic grace
Till I slip on the sidewalk and fall on my face
This peppermint winter is so sugar sweet
I don’t need to taste to believe
    What’s December without Christmas Eve

    Hop in the sleigh
    And we’ll glide away
    Into the night
    And we’ll sip on moonlight
    Runny nose
    My frosty toes
Are getting cold but I feel alive
    So I smile wide

The snowflakes start falling and I start to float
Till my mean older brother stuffs snow down my coat
This peppermint winter is so sugar sweet
I don’t need to taste to believe
    What’s December without Christmas Eve

    All this holiday cheer
    Heaven knows where it goes
    But it returns every year
And though this winter does nothing but storm
The joy in my heart is ablaze and it’s keeping me warm
    It’s keeping me warm
    It’s keeping me warm

I rip off the wrapping and tear through the box
Till I end up with 45 new pairs of socks
This peppermint winter is so sugar sweet
I don’t need to taste to believe
    What’s December without Christmas Eve
